pub struct Topic {
pub topic: Vec<u8>,
}Expand description
Topic = 1 kind byte + identifier bytes (XIP-49 layout). The server derives the topic from the payload; a client never sends a topic on publish.
kind | payload | identifier 0x00 | group_message | 32-byte group_id (decoded from the MLS message) 0x01 | welcome_message | 32-byte installation_key 0x02 | identity_update | 32-byte hex-decoded inbox_id 0x03 | key_package | 32-byte installation key (from the key package) 0x04 | sealed_commit_log_entry | 32-byte commit_log_id
The group id is the Ed25519 public key of the group signing key, and the commit-log id is the public key of the commit-log signing key. Both are derived from the group root, separately, so nothing on the wire relates a group’s two topics. A 16-byte group id names no topic.

impl Name for Topic
Source§const NAME: &'static str = "Topic"
const NAME: &'static str = "Topic"
Message.
This name is the same as it appears in the source .proto file, e.g. FooBar.Source§const PACKAGE: &'static str = "xmtp.backend.v1"
const PACKAGE: &'static str = "xmtp.backend.v1"
., e.g. google.protobuf.Source§fn full_name() -> String
fn full_name() -> String
Message.
It’s prefixed with the package name and names of any parent messages,
e.g. google.rpc.BadRequest.FieldViolation.
By default, this is the package name followed by the message name.
Fully-qualified names must be unique within a domain of Type URLs.impl Eq for Topic
